Gurri worked jointly with two talented professionals on this NYC Tribeca loft remodel. Designer Lauren Stanley from Alive+Kicking Design brings her savvy and glamour sense to every detail of this project. In addition, Thomas Vecchio, a kitchen designer, brought his Bilotta Kitchens’ contemporary design to this family-friendly project. This 1750 SF NYC remodeled loft took place in phases. Gurri Design + Remodel installed the kitchen and all the flooring tile work, and countertops and painted the whole apartment. Most importantly, Stanley’s clients, a dual professional couple, wanted a kid-friendly space. However, it also had to serve as grown-up entertainment with a bit of glamour

Above all, more usable kitchen space and storage were top-of-list. Stanley extended the kitchen’s footprint by moving the kitchen island, making it flush with the outside wall. The island countertop extends into the dining area, creating a massive yet intimate breakfast nook with lots of additional storage. Newly installed Bilotta Custom Kitchens’ contemporary ‘Copenhagen’ cabinetry with Balboa Mist finish creates a contemporary, clean minimal look.
‘Eternal Classic Calacatta’ natural quartz is used for the backsplash and countertops from Silestone by Cosentino. Subsequently, with an appliance garage and lots of storage space, the homeowners now enjoy clutter-free countertops. Kitchen glamour abounds with stainless steel Sub-Zero Wolff appliances and has a red-knob six-burner stove as the center of attraction.

Although relocating the kitchen island required moving the plumbing and electricity, the kitchen now has a better dining area relationship. Additionally, hiding 19th-century column relics and replacing rotting flooring with Volcano Cenere Natural tile adds to the contemporary style. The porcelain tile from Nemo Tile is reminiscent of natural stone but easily maintained. Ahead of her time pre-covid_19, Stanley has always thought about durability, easily cleaned, and maintenance-free materials. Undoubtedly crucial for these active professional working parents.
